Pastoral Care in Secondary School

We believe in

At New Cairo British International School, we believe in fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for every student to flourish academically, emotionally, and socially. Our dedicated Pastoral Care Team is here to ensure that each student feels safe, valued, and empowered throughout their secondary school journey.

Our core principles

Student Wellbeing

We prioritise the wellbeing of every student, offering a safe and inclusive environment where they can express themselves, seek guidance and develop essential life skills.

Personal Growth

Our pastoral care program is designed to support students in their personal development, helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence and build resilience, empathy, and self-awareness.

Communication & Collaboration

We value open communication and collaboration between students, parents, teachers, and the wider community. Working together, we can create a holistic support system for our students.

What we offer our students:

Our experienced pastoral team compromises of tutors, Heads of House, Head of Sixth Form, Assistant Head: Student Culture and Experience and Deputy Head of Pastoral. We are always available to listen, offer advice, and provide guidance on a wide range of academic, personal and social issues.

A dedicated Pastoral Team

Students have the opportunity to participate in mentorship programs where they can form meaningful relationships with older students or staff members, fostering a sense of belonging and encouragement.

Mentorship Programmes

Professional counselors are available for confidential one-on-one sessions to address any emotional or mental health concerns, offering a safe and non-judgmental space to talk and seek guidance.

Counseling Services

We organize workshops and seminars on various topics such as stress management, study skills, conflict resolution, and more to equip students with essential life skills and knowledge.

Workshops for students and parents

Students have access to peer support networks and buddy systems, encouraging camaraderie and ensuring that everyone has a friendly face to turn to.

Peer mentor programme

Each Key Stage offers students a wealth of opportunities to be involved in Leadership Opportunities from Student Council, to House Captions, to subject ambassadors.

Leadership Opportunities

Our Pastoral Team aims to create an environment where students can thrive academically and personally. We believe that a well-supported student is a successful student, and we are committed to helping each student reach their full potential.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding our pastoral provision, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of our students.
