After growing up in sleepy Somerset, I moved to Birmingham to complete a BA in English Literature and American Studies. Following this, I immediately started my teacher training through Teach First, fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. After four years of teaching in Birmingham, I moved to Cairo, joining NCBIS in my sixth year of living in the city. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, running (slowly), climbing, and yoga. I am a fan of travelling, predominantly to try the food of different countries, and then attempting to recreate the recipes.
