History and Psychology Department

I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1986 with a BA Hons In Ancient History and Classical Civilisation. Having worked in accountancy for several years after, I trained for my postgraduate qualification in Education at the University of Durham. I then spent many years learning the very best techniques in History teaching in a variety of schools in the North East of England. I worked my way through teacher of History, to Head of Department, Head of the Humanities faculty and finally, Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for whole school Teaching and Learning. After seven years as Assistant Head I took a break from teaching and retrained as a coach to work with businesses in a coaching role. I decided to return to teaching and took my first international assignment in Cairo in 2018. From there I moved to NCBIS where I am currently a teacher of History and Head of the History and Psychology Department.
