“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” This quote from Nelson Mandela is one which resonates with me and one which reminds me about how valuable the role of teacher is. I am a quirky, passionate, and friendly teacher with a great sense of humour and I come from Scotland where I trained as a fully qualified primary teacher. After completing my training, I moved to Saudi Arabia where I developed my career across KS1 and KS2 and in middle leadership. It was there in Riyadh where my love for travel began. The international exposure in the Middle East was an incredible and memorable experience. I am here with my husband who is also a teacher at the school and we bring with us our two lovely daughters aged 2 and 14 years. We also have a son back in the UK. I am super excited about my new adventure here in Egypt and look forward to learning more about the language, country and the culture. Moreover, I am a keen sports enthusiast and my personal interests include a love for climbing. I am a qualified climbing instructor and Duke of Edinburgh Award Leader and I enjoy dabbling in Ju Jitsu. I look forward to supporting the PE department in upcoming sports ECA’s. Lastly, I enjoy various arts including oil painting, ceramics and pottery. I am absolutely thrilled to be here in Cairo as a Y4 Teacher and Computing Lead at NCBIS.
